| Ross Solar was selected because I felt they offered a professional electrician that was properly trained and knew the industrial standards for PV installations. I was also impressed to know that Jason Ross was working with individuals that would make sure that the municipalities would establish the correct codes for this type of system. The incentive that was the deciding factor is that the monthly Lease expense was less than my average monthly bill from CL&P. I thought it was a good decision at the time to lease and I am still happy with this decision. | FYI - as stated above, our system was designed and installed to be a stand alone system not connected to any building, but to stand alone electrical systems and electronics in a remote location where a propane powered gas generator once provided the necessary power. The solar installation was installed and interconnected with the existing generator, but since the solar was installed, the generator has not been needed to provide any of the required power. The solar system designed and installed has been working exactly as it was supposed to.  | Like other recent comments, I waited several weeks to have a phone call returned from Alteris... sadly, the whole process has been a waiting game. The 4-6 week timeline is now 5 MONTHS. Several portions of the design were modified last minute, which we discovered only when we visually noticed the changes.
The quality of installation and workmanship was decent, but not stellar. For example, the conduit for our PV cable was run 13 inches away from a corner cap on the siding - why wouldn`t it be run aligned with it. Also, the hole drilled into the house for cables to enter and exit wasn`t sealed at all from water / weather. Not insurmountable problems, but odd for this level of project cost and in our opinion a decrease in overall quality.
Ending on a positive note, unlike the staff in the central office, the subcontracted electricians and labor for installation were excellent, kind, and eager to help.
